Bite-sized Concerts at Lunchtime

Our lunchtime recitals include established and emerging, prizewinning performers with sparkling programmes of music, specially selected for you to enjoy. Relax at lunchtime in the beautiful North Esk Parish Church, Musselburgh. A light lunch of soup and a sandwich is served in the Church Hall adjacent to the church.

Classical music is for everyone to enjoy, no previous knowledge is needed to enjoy our concerts. If you can’t make it for lunch, you are welcome to book for the concert only. J.S.Bach/G.Leonhardt: Movements from Violin Partita in D-Minor BWV1004

Arash Rokni was born in Tehran, Iran. He has performed and participated in festivals and competitions in Iran, Armenia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Denmark. His programme includes a piano transcription of one of Bach’s finest solo violin works and Brahms’s tribute to his friend Robert Schumann. It is completed by two of the towering musical geniuses of the 20th century in Hindemith and the great Russian, Shostakovich who managed to thrive artistically under the hugely restrictive regime of Stalin.
