A programme with Gypsy roots, including music
by, among others, Haydn, Bartók, Sarasate, Doppler, Falla, Liszt, and
Rimsky-Korsakov. Amazing Spanish flautist André Cebrian became the SCO’s
principal flute in 2020 and since then has won the hearts of Scotland’s
musical audiences. Celebrated for his beauty of tone combined with
remarkable virtuosity, he offers a very eclectic programme, all based on
gypsy themes from composers from Austria, Russia, Hungary, Spain and many
other countries. Enjoy an afternoon of heartrending nostalgic melodies and
glittering dances.
